  • A medical check-up as required by regulation of the Australian Embassy.
  • Proof of financial support as required by regulation of the Australian Embassy.

Cairns Climate and Temperatures

North Queensland daytime temperatures during April to August are 25-29C and from October through to March daytime temperatures can reach 34-36C. The Tableland area, where all competition rides are held, is crisp cool mountain weather in the evenings and can drop to 6C. It is recommended to bring cool light clothing, such as t-shirts, light shirts for daytime wear and warm clothing for evenings, including a jacket.

Riding Gear

Riding gear can be purchased at various saddler shops in Cairns, or you can bring your own riding apparel. We recommend jodhpurs or comfortable pants, boots and a peak cap/hat. If you have a riding helmet please bring, or we can supply helmets if you do not have one, as it is compulsory in Queensland to wear a helmet.
